Involved Volunteer
Opportunities There
are many ways to volunteer at NSC&FGC. Call us at 516 626-1971, ext. 344 and
let us know how you would like to help.
Mentors
- Our mentors work with middle school and high school students one afternoon a
week providing guidance, friendship, and emotional support.
Tutors
- Tutors provide academic assistance to children between the ages of 6-18 and
are paired based on their age, abilities, and interests.
Program
Advisory Councils - The goal of program advisory councils is to ensure
that our programs are meeting the needs of the community and to work to enhance
these programs. Membership is composed of professionals, former clients, staff
members, and interested community members.
Business
Advisory - Local business leaders serve
as our ambassadors to corporate Long Island.
Event
Committees - Help us plan and implement our luncheons, golf event,
or fall fundraiser. Children's
Center - North
Shore Child & Family Guidance Center supervises the Children's Center at the
Nassau County Family Court in Westbury. This beautifully equipped child care center
provides a safe and comfortable environment for children whose families are involved
in legal and domestic issues in Family Court. Some of these children are in foster
care, some have witnessed violence, but all enjoy the rich play materials in the
Center. The children are ages two months to 12 years. If
you are a special volunteer looking to participate in providing care at the Children's
Center for a few hours a week, you can make a difference in a child's life. Please
contact us at 516 626-1971, ext. 344.
If you have a special talent or ability
that could help in our work with kids and families, call us and we will try to
find an appropriate and rewarding spot for you.
